Regulatory reporting for PPI

This post discusses regulatory reporting for Premium pension institutions (PPI) and the services Addition Knowledge House offers supporting the PPI process. A Premium Pension Institution (PPI) is a pension provider in the Netherlands that implements pension schemes and builds up pension assets, but does not itself bear the risks (e.g. death, disability and "live longer than statistically expected").

The PPI focuses in the Dutch market on the implementation of collective defined contribution schemes, in addition to the AOW. Collective defined contribution plans with individual investment choices have the feature that the pension capital to be built up is partly dependent on the result of the chosen investments. The benefits that start from the retirement date depend on the interest rate.

The PPI offers the possibility to implement pension schemes across borders. For companies with branches in several countries, this offers the opportunity to centralize implementation.

PPI reporting

To maintain the PPI regulation De Nederlandsche Bank has prepared an extensive set of reports. Market parties must regularly report on their financial position. On December 18, 2018, DNB published version 1.0.3 of the XBRL taxonomy of the PPI reports for premium pension institutions.

DEX Data Explorers has now included the PPI reports in DEX Regulatory Suite. Addition Knowledge House offers business process outsourcing services for PPI, using the DEX Regulatory Suite.

DEX Regulatory Suite for PPI

In order to support the PPI process DEX Data Explorers offers DEX Regulatory Suite for PPI. DEX RS generates regulatory reports using the DNB specifications.

DNB has published a datapointmodel containing all definitions of the PPI reports. A datapointmodel is a database which contains all necessary information to generate the reports. DEX RS uses the information in the datapointmodel to generate the reports, validate the outcomes against the DNB validation rules and generate the XBRL interfaces. Since the reports are generated according to the DNB standards the reports are always compliant and conform the latest standards.

Below an example of a PPI report generated by DEX RS is shown.

DEX Data Explorers maintains the definitions of the reports according to the regulator standards. When updates to the standards are submitted, you as a customer will receive an update on the set of reporting definitions.
