With the coming into force of SFTR in January 2020, market participants are required to report to Trade Repositories all data pertaining to the securities financing transactions. In particular, reporting is related to Buy Sell Back, Repurchase, Securities Lending and Margin Lending transactions. All data collected by the Trade Repositories will be made available to the National Competent Authorities, certain subset of the collected data will be made publicly available.
Based on the large volumes of data as well as the number and range of institutions that will generate and submit data, the use of a single reporting standard has been decided, which will support and aid high levels of automation and data distribution.
